Matthew Fuller was born around 1603 in Redenhall, Norfolk, England. He arrived in Massachusetts sometime in the 1630s. He married Frances (maiden name unknown) around 1629.
For many decades, it was assumed Matthew was a son of Edward1 Fuller. Accordingly, GSMD approved applications prior to 2022 using this generally accepted “fact.” However, through DNA analysis, geneticists have discovered a closer relationship between Matthew and Robert of Rehoboth, Bristol, MA (Puritan Great Migration). It is possible that these Fuller families are inter-related, but that research continues. The GSMD has suspended all applications claiming Matthew as a son of Edward and will be revising it’s policies to address previously approved applications.
Matthew is still connected to our tree via his daughter and granddaughter. Daughter Elizabeth married Moses Rowley and their daughter, Mehitabel, married John3 Fuller (Samuel2). Then, Matthew’s granddaughter, Naomi “Nem” Rowley, married Samuel4 Fuller. Since we are descendants of Samuel4 Fuller and Naomi Rowley… Matthew played a pivotal role in our lineage.
