Ruth is recorded as the mother of 5 children with Abner Fuller in Schaghticoke/Easton New York Reformed Dutch Church 1776 to 1786. The first four children have not been found in these same church records, although there is evidence that Abner was already settled in Schaghticoke by 1761.
DNA: Kevin Fuller’s autosomal DNA matches 14 Weavers and many descendants of Ruth’s daughters with married surnames: Hammond, Collins, Ireland, Davis and Draper. Since Kevin is a patrilineal descendant of Abner Fuller Jr with many DNA matches to Ruth Weaver descendants, it’s safe to assume Ruth was also the mother of Abner Jr… even though not recoded in church records.
April 2024 update:
Kevin recently discovered a Weaver Genealogy of Rhode Island for Benjamin Weaver and Mary Casey. Their children are listed and include a “Ruth” born in 1743. That date doesn’t match the math on her gravestone, but the family also got the age wrong for Abner. Curiously, Ruth Weaver had siblings named Phebe and Benjamin (also her father’s name) and in 1779 she names her twins Phebe and Benjamin.
Now that we know the Casey surname might be part of the lineage, an autosomal DNA search reveals many matches to Kevin’s DNA. One strong DNA match is the top result for both Weaver and Casey surnames. So… it’s safe to assume this is our Ruth.
